Bcal Energy works with PG&E's Share My Data program. Share My Data lets you securely authorize PG&E to send your own energy-usage data to a company you choose — so we can model your site accurately, without you exporting spreadsheets by hand. You stay in control: you set the scope, and you can revoke at any time.
Only what you approve
Your electric and/or gas interval usage, billing, and account information — for the period and duration you authorize, and nothing more.
To model your site
A site-specific techno-economic screen — tariff, load shape, thermal sink, incentive eligibility — so we can tell you plainly whether a behind-the-meter fuel cell project pencils.
Encrypted & private
Exchanged with PG&E over a certificate-secured connection, encrypted in transit and at rest, used only for your analysis — never sold or shared with unrelated parties.
How to authorize
- Sign in to your PG&E account and open Share My Data.
- Authorize Bcal Energy LLC, and choose the data scope and duration you're comfortable with.
- We receive the data securely and begin your site analysis.
Prefer not to use Share My Data? You can also send us a Green Button "Download My Data" file, or grant access through PG&E's customer-authorization form. Either way works.
How to revoke
You can revoke your authorization at any time in your PG&E account under Share My Data, or simply email info@bcalenergy.com and we'll confirm. Revocation stops any future data transfers.
What we do with it
We use your authorized energy data solely to perform the site-specific analysis you asked for. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we never disclose your PG&E energy-usage data to unrelated third parties. Full details are in our Privacy & Cyber-Security Policy.
