Travel-center power planning

Plan the first charging phase. Keep future expansion in view.

A focused Power Readiness Screen for travel-center owners working out initial truck charging, other opening-day electrical loads and later expansion. Organize the available evidence before committing to a power plan.

$7,500 USD · subject to agreed written scope

Technology-neutral desk review. Scope, essential inputs and qualified reviewer availability are confirmed before delivery timing is agreed.

Separate opening needs from future buildout

Treat the first opening phase and later expansion as separate planning cases. An approval or concept plan does not confirm the power available to either.

Initial opening

Identify the truck charging planned for opening, how vehicles would use it, and the other loads that must operate at the same time: buildings, food service, repair facilities and site services. Record what is defined and what is still being worked out.

Future buildout

List later charging positions, buildings or services separately. Identify the assumptions and decisions that would trigger expansion, without treating a future load, equipment choice or utility upgrade as already confirmed.

Start with the information you have

A brief description is enough for the first email. Before paid work, we agree the essential inputs for a useful, bounded review. Missing information stays clearly marked.

  • Site and project context

Public site location or plan, proposed opening phases, the next decision you need to make, and who controls the site and utility discussions.

  • Charging and other loads

Any existing charging concept, expected vehicle use or dwell-time assumptions, available load information and the buildings or services included at opening. Identify future additions separately.

  • Utility evidence and timing

Existing utility correspondence or service-request status, any documented capacity or schedule statements, and your desired opening sequence. A target date is kept separate from a utility commitment.

Please send only a short, non-confidential summary initially. We confirm confidentiality and an agreed data-transfer process before requesting sensitive files.

The proposed Screen output

A concise written planning memo, tailored to the agreed scope:

  • Opening and expansion summary

A clear account of the initial phase and future buildout, with source references and assumptions.

  • Evidence and gaps

What the available project and utility records support, what conflicts and what still needs confirmation.

  • Decision and question list

Prioritized questions for the owner, project team and utility, including what needs resolution before equipment or opening-date commitments.

  • Next steps

The next evidence to obtain, the responsible party to confirm and the decisions that may justify further study.

What the Screen cannot establish

The Screen cannot confirm or reserve utility capacity, establish an energization date, or guarantee upgrade costs, approvals, savings or project performance. Utility statements and third-party information remain subject to their source and status.

It does not include engineering design or stamped drawings, equipment selection or specification sheets, equipment supply, utility applications, permitting, procurement, financing or construction. It is a planning service, not an equipment offer.

A bounded Screen. An optional full Study.

Power Readiness Screen

$7,500

Fixed fee, subject to agreed written scope, essential inputs and confirmed delivery capacity. The written order sets the delivery schedule.

Power Readiness Study

$25,000

The broader, technology-neutral decision study has its own agreed scope. It is optional; the Screen creates no automatic Study, development or construction commitment.

The full $7,500 Screen fee is credited toward the $25,000 Study if the Study is ordered within 60 days of Screen delivery.
